Soo J. Hong is a writer based in Los Angeles and Palm Springs.
Her fiction appears in Narrative, where she is an assistant fiction editor, Chicago Quarterly Review, Raleigh Review, and elsewhere. Recent stories have been finalists for the Iowa Review Award and the StoryQuarterly Fiction prize, as well as an honorable mention for the CRAFT Short Fiction Prize.

Her writing has received support from PEN America Emerging Voices and Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, where she will be an administrative staff scholar in 2026. Soo is an alumna of the Community of Writers and has been nominated for UCLA’s James Kirkwood Literary Prize in Creative Writing.
She is currently at work on her first novel.
