Soo J. Hong is a writer based in Los Angeles and Palm Springs.

Her fiction appears or is forthcoming in various journals including Chicago Quarterly Review, Raleigh Review, and Narrative, where she is an assistant fiction editor. Recent stories have been finalists for the Iowa Review Award and the StoryQuarterly Fiction prize. Additionally, two of her short stories placed simultaneously in ScreenCraft’s Cinematic Prose Writing Competition.

Her writing has received support from PEN America Emerging Voices and Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. Soo is an alumna of the Community of Writers and has been nominated for UCLA’s James Kirkwood Literary Prize in Creative Writing.

She is currently at work on her first novel.
